Lansing Lids for Kids is fast approaching and shaping up to be the best one yet! Last year’s event, despite the rain, had a tremendous turnout. We gave away over 500 free, properly fitted bike helmets. Lids for Kids is coming to Marshall Street Fire Station for its 17th year in the capital city area. We could not make the event possible without our sponsors. Thank you to Sinas Dramis Law Firm, Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center, Brain Injury Association of Michigan, and Michigan Association for Justice. And also thank you to our media sponsors, WLAJ and WLNS, and numerous volunteers. Without all of their help, this event would not be possible.
Who to Look For
Kids who attend Lansing Lids for kids will not only get a free, properly fitted bike helmet but will also have a chance to meet Big Lug! The Lansing Lugnuts dinosaur mascot will kick off the event and meet kids from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. If you can’t make it until the latter half of the bike helmet giveaway, don’t worry. In addition to Big Lug, Charlie Brown and Snoopy will make an appearance. The famous duo will make appearances throughout the event to meet attending kids. In addition to these mascots, the kids will have the opportunity to tour a fire engine while meeting local firefighters. Kids will also be able to create ID kits thanks to the Lansing Masons and the Lansing Police Department. The tremendously talented face painter, Sharon Shutes, will also be back at Lansing Lids for Kids by popular demand.
Prizes to Win at 2019 Lansing Lids for Kids
Each year, in addition to free bike helmets, Lansing Lids for Kids holds a raffle. When receiving their bike helmet, kids enter their name into a raffle for a chance to win a free bike and a variety of different prizes generously donated by local vendors. This year looks like it will be one of the best raffles yet! Kids must be present to win, and may only win once. Like us on Facebook and stay up-to-date on prizes donated from around the community. You won’t want to miss it!
