Lids for Kids Returns to Lansing and Grand Rapids
Spring is here, and that means it’s time for Lids for Kids—our annual bicycle helmet giveaway and bike safety event—returning to both Lansing and Grand Rapids!
Each year, these events bring families, volunteers, and community partners together with one shared goal: keeping kids safe while they ride. We’re excited to once again offer free, custom-fit helmets along with a fun, educational experience for children and their families.

Free Helmets + Safety First
At the heart of Lids for Kids is safety. Every child who attends will receive a free, properly fitted bicycle helmet (while supplies last), along with guidance on how to wear it. Something as simple as wearing a helmet can make a huge impact on injury prevention—and we’re proud to help make helmets accessible to children across our communities.
Family-Friendly Activities
In addition to helmet fittings, both events will feature a variety of activities designed to keep kids engaged and excited about bike safety, including:
- Interactive games and hands-on activities
- Free giveaways
- Bike safety education
- Music and a lively event atmosphere
- A chance to win a bicycle in our bike drawing
